Rails Across the Bay 2009 Convention
April 15 - 19, 2009

THANK YOU!

The Rails Across the Bay 2009 PCR Convention has now concluded. Thanks to everyone that helped make it a huge success. Be sure to join us for next year's convention in Sparks, Nevada. Visit the Silver Rails 2010 website to see what's in store for you.

The Rails Across the Bay 2009 PCR Convention was Wednesday, April 15, through Sunday, April 19, 2009, starting at noon on Wednesday with the PCR Board of Directors meeting and ending with the Sunday morning PCR Annual Business Meeting. Both meetings are open to all PCR members, whether registered for the convention or not. The BOD meeting starts at 1:00 PM Wednesday. The business meeting starts at 9:00 AM Sunday.

Whether you have never attended a Pacific Coast Region convention or have lost count of the number you have attended, mark your calendar now and plan to join us in Fremont in April 2009. Bring the whole family and enjoy the numerous attractions in the San Francisco Bay Area.

NEW! Accucraft Trains Open House

From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Wednesday, April 15, Accucraft Trains, located at 33268 Central Avenue in Union City, CA 94587, will be having an Open House where Rails Across the Bay 2009 convention attendees are welcome to stop by to see their display of models they have shipped in 1:24, 1:32, 1:20.3 and other scales. Some of their products will also be on sale. Visit their website for more information on their product line. Visit the "Prototype Tours" page for more information.

Flyer with directions to Accucraft's showroom for printing before coming to the convention.

NEW! Operating Sessions

All registrants of the Rails Across the Bay 2009 PCR Convention are eligible and invited to participate in these Prototype Operating Sessions. The sessions are offered with the hope that many who normally do not participate in structured operating sessions will take advantage of this opportunity and particpate in broadening their model railroading experiences.

No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to run a model railroad as if it were a real transportation system. This is not a special club or special interest group (SIG) event. It is open to all convention attendees. To sign-up, go to the "Operating Sessions page".

Door Prizes

We are soliciting door prizes from many of the fine manufacturers of model railroad equipment and publications. They have been generous in the past, and we anticipate some wonderful offerings for Rails Across the Bay 2009. Each registrant will have a chance to win a door prize — you could be a WINNER! Any prizes not picked up by 2:00 PM Saturday will be distributed at the annual business meeting Sunday morning.

We would also welcome donations of good, new kits, ready-to-run equipment, new (or in excellent condition) books, DVDs, or modeling tools from convention attendees. If you have some of these you find surplus to your interests, bring them along and donate them for door prizes. We'll find them a new home. Donations in all scales are welcome.
