Silver Rails 2010 Convention
April 28 - May 2, 2010
Sparks, Nevada

CONVENTION CARS DELAYED!

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the convention cars were delayed enroute and did not arrive in time for the convention. They will be delivered to those that ordered them when they arrive at no additional cost. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this delay.

UPDATE!

The HO convention cars have arrived! Jim Long will bring them to the June 12th Sierra Division and the June 13the Coast Division meets, where they may be picked up. The rest of the cars will be shipped at Silver Rails' expense.

The N convention cars are still enroute. Watch for further updates here and on the PCR Yahoo Group.

THANK YOU!

The Silver Rails 2010 PCR Convention has now concluded. Thanks to everyone that helped make it a huge success. Be sure to register for next year's convention in Santa Rosa, California. Visit the Sonoma Short Line 2011 website to see what's being planned.

The Silver Rails 2010 PCR Convention was Wednesday, April 28, through Sunday, May 2, 2010, starting Wednesday with the PCR Board of Directors meeting and ending with the Sunday morning PCR Annual Business Meeting. Both meetings were open to all PCR members, whether registered for the convention or not. The BOD meeting started at 1:00 PM Wednesday. The business meeting started at 9:00 AM Sunday.

Sandwiched between the two meetings was a veritable smorgasboard of activities the Pacific Coast Region is known for, including clinics, contests, prototype tours, layout tours, operating sessions, breakfasts, banquet, and more!

Special "First Timer" Fare

We had a special "First Timer" fare of $75.00. A "First Timer" is a PCR member that has not registered for the past 5 conventions.

What's Included?

All fares included clinics, layout tours, Saturday night banquet, and the Sunday morning breakfast. Youth registrations, $10.00, did not include the banquet. One-day fares, $25.00 per day, are also available, but also did not include the banquet. Go to the "Registration" page to register.

NEW TO PCR! - "Modeling With The Masters" Clinics

Clark Kooning, MMR, from Toronto, Canada, is coming to Silver Rails 2010 to present a series of hands-on make-and-take "Modeling With The Masters" (MWTM) clinics, as usually held at NMRA national conventions.

For more information, go to the "Modeling With the Masters" page.

As of 3/26/10, all MWTM clinics EXCEPT "Building a DPM Kit" are SOLD OUT!

The convention car is InterMountain Railway's Southern Pacific 12-panel 40' boxcar, factory-assembled and available in both HO and N scale models. They are available with 6 different numbers that have not been run before. A convention decal, as shown on the HO model below, is included and may be added as desired.

Door Prizes

We are soliciting door prizes from many of the fine manufacturers of model railroad equipment and publications. They have been generous in the past, and we anticipate some wonderful offerings for Silver Rails 2010. Each registrant will have a chance to win a door prize — you could be a WINNER!

We would also welcome donations of good, new kits, ready-to-run equipment, new (or in excellent condition) books, DVDs, or modeling tools from convention attendees. If you have some of these you find surplus to your interests, bring them along and donate them for door prizes. We'll find them a new home. Donations in all scales are welcome.

Convention Hotel

The Convention Hotel for Silver Rails 2010 is John Ascuaga's Nugget Hotel, 1100 Nugget Avenue, Sparks, Nevada. See the "Hotel" page for additional information for the convention room rates.
