  • Area Railroading – Year-round railroad-related organizations in the area. Provided by Central Coast Railroad Festival.
  • Hearst Castle – 750 Hearst Castle Rd, San Simeon, CA, (800) 444-4445. One of California's top attractions, located along the majestic Central Coast of California, nestled in the hills of San Simeon. See our "Outside Tours" webpage for a Coast Rails tour you can take.
  • Veterans Museum – SLO Veterans Memorial Building, 801 Grand Avenue, SLO. Hours: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm (1000 to 1500 hrs) Wednesday through Saturday, Admission is free, donations are appreciated.
  • San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden – 3450 Dairy Creek Road (on Highway 1 in El Chorro Regional Park, between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay). Open daily during daylight hours, admission is free.
  • Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa – 751 Palm Street, SLO. (805) 781-8220. The Mission is located on the corner of Chorro and Monterey Streets. The parking lot entrance is off of Palm Street, in the back of the Church itself.
  • Margarita Adventures – 22719 El Camino Real, Santa Margarita, CA 93453. (805) 438-3120. Closed: Tuesday and Wednesday. Get your adrenalin flowing on their zipline tours! Advance reservations required.
  • Wine Tasting – The San Luis Obispo Wine Region produces award-winning wines that are known around the globe for quality, craftsmanship and distinctiveness.
  • Thursday Night Farmers Market – For more than 30 years, Thursday night’s Farmers' Market has been the city’s signature event.
  • Free Activities – Ideas for a good time without breaking the bank.

  • San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum – 1940 Santa Barbara Avenue, SLO. Preserving the railroad history of California and the Central Coast by collecting, restoring and displaying artifacts as well as operating historic railroad equipment. Co-hosts for the Coast Rails 2014 PCR Convention.
  • History Center of San Luis Obispo County – 696 Monterey St, SLO. (805) 543-0638, Hours: Everyday 10am – 4pm.
  • Dallidet Adobe – 1185 Pacific Street, SLO. (805) 543-0638 x 10, Hours: Sundays 1pm-4pm and Fridays 10am – 4pm
  • The Ah Louis Store – Located at the corner of Palm and Chorro Streets, SLO. The store, founded in 1874 by Chinese pioneer Ah Louis, has been in continuous operation ever since.
