This year's Taking It To The Street 2016 Joint PCR/FRRS Convention will feature a program for the Non-Rail attendees. All Non-Rail convention attendees are cordially invited to visit the Non-Rails Hospitality Room and enjoy the fun, fellowship, and activities.

All on-site Non-Rail clinics and activities (except for contest entries and judging) will be in the Non-Rails Hospitality Room.

Hospitality Room

The Non-Rail Hospitality Room will be open during the convention to all convention registrants and their guests. Please check with the convention Registration Desk for the location of the room.

The Hospitality Room will be open during the following days and times:

Wednesday, April 20 - 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 21 - 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Friday, April 22 - 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 23 - 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

All convention registrants are welcome to stop by the Hospitality Room for some refreshments. It's a great place to catch up on things with old friends and to meet new one! We'll have games, puzzles, magazines and paperbacks available; and there will be room to put sewing machines for people who want to work either on their own projects or on quilts and afghans to be donated to a local charity. (There will also be a couple of sewing machines available for people who would like to participate but can't bring their own.) There will also be some special Non-Rail door prizes, so be sure to stop by and give us an opportunity to welcome you to the convention.

Schedule   (Subject to change)

On Thursday, April 21, we will have the Non-Rail Lunch, which will give all the participants a chance to spend some time relaxing over lunch. Since we will be in downtown Modesto, this will be a great opportunity to take a walking tour of some of the local attractions. Maps and directions will be available in the Hospitality Room for those who are interested (even if they are unable to attend the lunch itself).

Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. we will have the traditional Movie Night, which is open to all convention attendees. This event traditionally provides an opportunity to see popular films featuring trains, and this year will be no exception. The exact location of the movie screening can be obtained at the convention Registration Desk or in the Hospitality Room.

The 16th annual PCR Bingo Night will be held in the Hospitality Room on Friday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. All convention attendees are invited to come and spend an enjoyable evening playing various forms of Bingo (with lots of prizes!).

The traditional "Quilt Shop Hop" will be held on Saturday, April 23. This event provides an opportunity for the fabric-lovers to check out the local quilting stores and find that treasure they just can't live without! Maps and directions, as well as a carpool signup sheet, will be available in the Hospitality Room. The Shop Hoppers will leave at 9:30 a.m. to explore the quilt and fabric shops in the area, taking time out for a no-host lunch, before coming back to the hotel in time for the Saturday evening awards banquet.

Contest

While the Arts and Crafts division of the PCR Contest is open to anyone registered for the convention, it is often of particular interest to Non-Rail attendees. If you would like to enter an item in the contest, entry forms and rules can be obtained in the Contest Room. Those who do not want to enter the contest but would be interested in judging can get more information from members of the Contest Committee. The judging usually takes place on Saturday morning, and lunch is provided to the judges afterwards.)

Check the Contests webpage for more information on entry categories.

Contest entry forms will be available in the Non-Rail Hospitality Room and the Contest Room.
