Get your seat early for one of the most exciting NMRA programs, “Modeling with the Masters”! Join Clark Kooning, Master Model Railroader (MMR #225), from Toronto, Canada, for a series of hands-on make-and-take clinics, usually only held at NMRA National Conventions. Sign-up and reserve your seat for one of the most exciting NMRA programs ever brought to the PCR!

Each session lasts 3½ to 5 hours and starts with a workshop, followed by a hands-on session where you will actually build a model aided by Master Model Railroader Clark Kooning. He will assist you, answer your questions and share his modeling expertise, skills and techniques. When the session is finished, you will be able to take your project home.

There were several “Modeling With The Masters” clinics presented at X2011 in Sacramento. Attendees built a model to take home, with personal help from Master Model Railroaders. Here Clark Kooning, MMR, (standing) helps an attendee during the "Building a DPM Structure" clinic. That's John Lowrance, MMR, sitting behind Clark with his leg crossed, helping another attendee.

Our special guest will be Jimmy Simmons, who founded Monster Modelworks™ in 2011, specializing in highly-detailed scale model building materials, kits, detail parts and custom laser cutting. Jimmy and Clark will take you thru the steps of building a Laser Kit from Monster Modelworks for the first time. Laser-cut wood is now used to create an array of precision-cut kits with parts ranging from walls with door and window openings cut ever-so-accurately to extremely fine window mullions. All parts fit perfectly (even in multiple layers) allowing the resulting structure to appear very like a scratch-built model. Our project will involve a Brick Engineers Tools Shed that will look great in your yard on your model railway. You should be able to complete this model and take it home with you ready to install on your layout
